The Information of George Gardiner< no role > of No 2o
Warwick Street Golden Square Linnen Draper taken
on Oath before me this 11th, day of November 1789.

Who being on Oath says that about Four o'Clock this
Afternoon the two prisoners now Present who calls themselves Thomas
Morgan
< no role > , and James Smith< no role > , came into his Shop in Company
together, that said Thomas Morgan< no role > said he wanted as much Cloth as
would make him a Shirt, at about a Shilling Per Yard, which
Informant Shewed him when said Morgan told Informant it was
not fine enough, upon which said James Smith< no role > advised him
to have that of two Shillings per Yard at which time he
come nearer to the Compter, when this Informant saw the
corner of some Silk Hand Kerchiefs Sticking out from his Waistcoat
That said Morgan gave Smith a signal to put said Silk
Hand Kerchiefs out of Sight which he did, That this Informant
than Suspected said James Smith< no role > had taken the said HandKerchiefs
out of his Shop Window and immediatly come round the Compter
looked into the Window and foundthea Piece of Silk Handkerchiefs
which he had seen there a short time before were gone, upon
whcih he endeasoured to lay hold of said James Smith< no role > who Ran
to the door to get away where Informant Stopped him and
brought him into the Shop, when said Smith opened his
Waistcoat and the Piece of Silk Handkerchiefs now produced
dropped from him, that said Thomas Morgan< no role > then a Hemphd
to get away but was also secured by this Informant And
that the said Piece of Silk Handkerchiefs are this Informant
Property And were Stolen From out of his Shop Window as aforesd.
