The Informations of James Farquharson< no role >
James Mc. Manus< no role > and Joseph Jackson< no role > taken
before me this Ninth Day of September 1789

Who being upon Oath severally say, and first the said
James Farquharson< no role > for himself says, that on Saturday
Night last between the Hours of Nine and Ten, as he and the
other Informants [..] were attending their Duty as patroles
they met three Persons now present, who call themselves
William Charlton< no role > otherwise Charrington, George Clarke< no role >
and John Wright< no role > , whom they stop'd, and examined as
Suspicions Persons; that he this Informant seized the
person calling himself William Charlton< no role > , whom he found
Armed with [..] the Cutlass and [..] pistol, now produced that while he held said
Charlton, he (Charlton) discharged a loaded pistol at
this Informant, and the Ball or slugs with which said
Pistol was loaded [..] went through this Informants Coat, on the
left side and struck (as Informant verily believes) on one of his
Waistcoat Buttons, and by its force bruised him near the
pit of his StomackAnd this Informant James Mc.
Manns
< no role > , for himself saith, that he was present when
the prisoners were met with, and stop'd as aforesaid
that he saw the Prisoner Charlton otherwise Charrington
fire at Informant Farquharson, and this Informant
further saith, that he secured the Prisoner John Wright< no role >
upon whom he found the [..] Cutlass and a Pistol now producedAnd
this Informant Joseph Jackson< no role > for himself saith,
that he also was present, when the prisoners were
met with, and stop'd as aforesaid; that he did not see the
Prisoner Charlton fire at Informant Farquharson
but heard the report of a Pistol, and afterwards found that
Farquharson had been shot through the Coat and bruised
on the Breast and this Informant further saith that he secured
the Prisoner George Clarke< no role > , upon whom he found the Cutlass
now produced
