Who being on Oath severally say and first the said
John Lockhart< no role >
for himself says that Joseph Ridley< no role >
now Present
hath been a Footman to his father James Lockhart< no role >
about a Month
that said Ridley on Sunday night last left his fathers Service
without assigning any Cause and Robbed the House as he
believes of Fourteen Silver table Spoons and Six Desert Spoons
And further says [..] he verily believes that the Eight Silver
table Spoons now produced [..] are the property
of his said father And the said John Bateman< no role >
for himself says
that Yesterday the said Joseph Ridley< no role >
came to this Informants Shop
and produced one of the Six Table Spoons now shown by this
Informant saying he wanted to sell the same which Informant
bought of said Ridley for Ten Shilling and Nine pence That in
about ten minutes said Ridley returned and produced the five
other Spoons when Informant asked him whose Crest the said
Spoons bore who replied that the Crest was his own which
said five Spoons Informant bought of him for Two Pounds thirteen
Shillings and Six pence. And the said William Thruston< no role >
for
himself says that on Monday morning last the Spoon now produced
by him was brought to their Shop by one Harriet Williams< no role >
and
Suspecting it not to be her's he Stoppedthesaid Spoons and desired her
to produce the owner when she produced said Ridley who
avowed himself the owner and said his Name was John< no role >
