The Information of William Nichols< no role > of Brook Street
Ratcliff Waterman Thomas Cole< no role > Constable of Shadwell High
Street taken this 29th day of Janr 1788 Who being on Oath say and first
The said William Nichols< no role > for himself saith last night between the Hour
of nine and Ten he saw the Prisoners who say their names are William Parker< no role >
and Thomas Wright< no role > in Shadwell High Street together That Thomas Wright< no role >
knocked at the Door of a man who keeps an Old Iron Shop near to Shadwell Charity
School on the same Side of the way whose name he is Informed is Hall says the said
door was Opened and both the said William Parker< no role > and Thomas Wright< no role > went in Parker
having the Crane rope produced on his Shoulders-says himself followed them in
when Parker put the said Rope down in the Shop when Hall said he would not have
it Says he Ordered Parker to bring the said Rope along with him to the Virginia planter
where the Peace officers of Shadwell Office use and delivered him and the Rope produced
into the Custody of Thomas Cole< no role > and William Elbey< no role > . The said Thomas Wright< no role > making
his Escape under the preteat of going to fetch more of the said Crane Rope The said
Thomas Cole< no role > on his oath saith last night between the hours of Nine and Ten William
Nichols
< no role > who has been of him employed by him and other his fellows Trinity officers to put the
Bumboat act into Execution came to the Virginia Planter near Shadwell office with William
Parker
< no role > having the Coil of Crane Rope produced on his Shoulder and delivered Parker
and the rope into his and William Elbeys Castody says they took Parker and went to
the house of the said Mr. Hall and whist they were there Thomas Wright< no role > was seen looking
in at the Door when Nichols saying that was the man who was concerned with Parker
They pursued says he and a Stranger took Wright-by crying Stop thief

< no role > and Robert Mellish< no role > at their Step Yard at Poplar St. Dunstan Stepney And That
last night a Crane Rope belonging to his said Masters was cut away and is Certain the Rope
produced is part of the said Crane Rope< no role >

William Parker< no role > says himself and another lastnight went from St Catherines and at Ratcliff Cross
met With Thomas Wright< no role > That they all Three went to his Yard near timehouse hole where they found laying
near a Crane The Rope produced and Two Pieces more, says that he took me piece on his Shoulder the other
man whose name he doth not know took another piece says he and [..] Wright came away together with said piece
who leyed him at times giving him a Spell to bring the same and that it was Wright who shewed to
him the Shop in which they went to sell the same in Shadwell

a Walk Which he did That they all three went down to a hip Yard at timehouse pole which they went in and that said
other man shewed him some Rope laying near a Crone and took one piece William Parker< no role > took another Says he came
with Parker and the other man who Stopt by the Way that himself and Parker cames with the piece of Crane one produced to
and old Om Shop in Shadwell to sell. Stat whilsh they were in said Shop William Nichols< no role > told the man not to buy it say Parker
and the said Rope was Stopt he went to look for the otherman not pending him came back was pursued and taken
taken and signed by Both the day and Year abovementioned
