No. 4 Croonlies Row Mile End Old Sown in the Parish of St.
Dunstan Stepney Masiner taken on Oath this 28th day of Nov. 1787
Who saith on Monday the 26th Instant between the Hours of Three
and found the afternoon she went to her Neighbours neat door and soon
after returned hearing an Cry of Stop thief and saw persons pursuing
that her servant Mary Stevens< no role > informing her [..] Thief had gother
Watch coat and Cloak and soon after The person present who says
his name is Edward Crouch< no role > was brought to her Door by some person
one of whom is present [..] who says his name is John Robinson< no role > at
which him she received the said Watch coat and Cloak now produced her said Husband property from three
Persons

John Robinson< no role > of No. 5 Swan Alley St. Botholph Aldgate in the said County Fishmonger
who on Oath saith or Monday last between the Hours of Three and Four in the
afternoon as he was waling near Spice Island and Crombies Row he heard a noise
which occasioned him to Turn round and seeing a Mob of People coming toward him
[..] crying stop thief and seeing Edward Crouch< no role > morning with a Bundle under his Arm
he run towards him when the said Edward Crouch< no role > throwed said Bundle which he discovered to be Olive green over a Bank
into the Garden Ground of Benjamin Hamond< no role > -Says he seized Crouch by the Collar who and [..]
to set from him That Benjamin Hamond< no role > coming to his Assistance

They secured him

Benjamin Hammond< no role > of Spice Island St. George Middlesex Boiler of Grease who an Oath
saith he has a Little Garden adjoining the Shed he Boiles his Grease in at said Island And that
on Monday last between the Hours of three and four he heard the Cry of Stop thief and saw the
Prisoner running by his said garden Door he throwed his Stoe at him and say John Robinson< no role > on lay hoe
of him that he Aided him to secure the Prisoner

Jane Barner< no role > the wife of John Barner< no role > of No. 8 Union Street Mill and Old Town aforesaid Shoemaker who
being on Oath saith on Monday last between the hours of two and four she was at the shad Door of
Benjamin Hamond< no role > a Relation of hers and hearing a Cry of Shop thief and that the things were thrown
over into the Garden of said Hamond she [..] with others went and looked and found the Watch produced
which she delivered to a Gentleman as she was coming along toward the hours where it was said
it had been stolen that she saw as man take up the coat which is on Mrs. Hannah Rooke< no role > and a Black
Silk Cloak drop out of it in the said Garden
