Samuel Robert Barns the above named Prisr. and William Johnson< no role > of
Mint Street in the Brough of Southwark Gentleman
Severally Make Oath as follows and first this
Deponent Samuel Robert Barns for himself Saith
that Thomas James< no role > of Little King Street Saint James
Hawker and Pedlar is a Material Witness for this
Deponent on the Trial of this Indictment and without
whose Testimoney this Deponent cannot with safty take
this Trial and this Deponent Samuel Robert Barns for
himself further Saith that he hath caused a Subpana to
be Issued out to serve the said Thomas James< no role > And hath caused
all due diligence to be used to serve the same but without Effect
and which said Subpana is hereinto annexed And this
Deponent William Johnson< no role > for himself saith that he did
on Saturday the fifteenth day of September Instant go to the
Lodgings of the said Thomas James< no role > at a Mrs. Willons in
Little King Street aforesaid in owter to Serve the said Thomas
James
< no role > with a Copy of the said Subpana where this Deponent
was Informed by the Daughter of the said Mrs. Willon that
the said Thomas James< no role > does Lodging there, but that he was
gone to Fiverton in the County of Devon upon his Business
and would not return untill the the begining of October
next and which Information this Deponent believes to
be true
