Things Whereupon he gave Information to the above named

and gave a description of the prisoners
person to him yesterday Morning and this Morning he
was informed that a Person answering the Description
was in Custody and that they had found a Bakers Basket
That the Basket now produced is his property and
the same that was Stolen in manner aforesaid
And the said Jacob Freeman< no role >
for himself
Saith That he was present when the above Information
was given and about half past 8. o Clock this Morning
he went with Beamish to a Lodging House No. 10
in Starr Court
Cross Lane
and in the Lower Room he
found the prisoner and a Girl in Bed together
That he asked him his Name and he said it was
Evans he then desired him to get up and he found he
answered the above Description he then with
Beamish proceeded to Search the Room and they
found the Breeches, Waistcoat and Stockings
in the Room by the beside which are now Claimed to
be the Property of the said Thomas Miller< no role >
but upon
asking the Prisoner whose they were he said They
were his own Property and they then Seemed him
The said John Beamish< no role >
for himself Saith
That he received Information yesterday Morning
from Mr. Play fair That he had lost the Blankets
and Sheet and a Bushel Basket and that his Servant
had lost a pair of Breeches and a pair of Stockings
and described the Prisoner by the Name of Evans
as the person whom he Inspected to be Concerned
in Stealing the Property and that he lived Somewhere
near Leiwkners Lane
and that he lived with a Woman of
the Name of Brown Whereupon he with Freeman
