The Examination of Robert Simpson< no role >
charged with Felony by John Wright< no role >
of the Parish of Saint James
the C ounty of Middlesex , Butcher
; and taken before me William Addington< no role >
Esqr. one of his MAJESTY'S Justices of the Peace for the
County of Middlesex , this 23rd. Day of February
17 85

Who Confesseth that that between six and seven oClock
Yesterday morning he this Examinant feloniously stole
the shoulder of Mutton now Produced belonging to the
said John Wright< no role > in his Shop in Saint James's Market
which he immediately carried to the House of George
Ridley
< no role > at the Red Lion in Jermyn Street and left it in
Said Ridleys Parlour telling said Ridley that he had left
it therethat he hath taken several other Shoulders of
Mutton from his said Masters Shop and carried them to
said Ridley who never paid this Examinant any Money
for them but always received a Gratuity in Beer
and Gin
