The Information of George Simpson< no role > of Wapping Wall in
the Parish of St. Paul Shadwell Gentleman taken this 16th day of Feb 1785
who being on Oath Sayth That
George Simpson< no role > sayslast Saturday Evening some
Person rung at the Door of his Father Henry Simpson< no role >
house situate on Wapping Wall No. 67 That the servant
Maid went to the Door and returned saying a
person had come from Old Mr. Birkley and wanted
to speak with his Father and him Immediately
that they both went to Mr. Berkleys Junr Shop and
Staid a few Minutes that they proceeded to old
Mr. Birkley at No. 37 The Bottom of Fox Lane
Shadwell where they found Mr Berkley & Mrs,
Berkley who said they had not sent for them
That they staid there about Ten Minutes and
went homewhen this Informant rung the Bell
at the Door Mary Middleton< no role > their servant maid Opened it
And appeared in Great fright saying there were
Thieves in the House and that One of Mr Dowdings
boys was oneThat this Informant run down Stairs
