Parish of Saint Ann Middlesex
but having Received
ver
[..] y cruel treatment from the persons undermentioned was
removed to the workhouse of the said Parish and there taken
this first day of February 1785 before me one of his
Majestys Justices of the peace
in and for the said County
Who being upon his Oath Saith that between seven and Eight
OClock in the Evening of Wednesday the twenty Sixth day of
January last he was stopped by two men now present who Call
themselves Peter Newbury< no role >
and William Iverson< no role >
That the said
Peter Newbury< no role >
with great force and Violence knocked his head
against the wall Seized him by the Throat and almost Choaked
him at which Instant William Iverson< no role >
(with a Knife) Cut
the pockett of his Trowsers Off Containing a Tin Box in
which was deposited Two Guineas in Gold and, a Pension Tickett
and feloniously took and Carried away the same Further Saith
that he is positive to the persons of the above two Men being the
same who Cruelly and In humanly ill treated and Robbed him
as aforesaid for that Newbury lodged in the same house with
Informant and was frequently Visited there by Iverson And
this Informant Lastly Saith that being Now in a Verry weak
and languising state from the ill treatment as above set forth
he is positive the said Peter Newbury< no role >
and William Iverson< no role >
are the immediate Cause thereof
