the 5th. day of July 1784

Who upon his Oath Saith That about the hour
of Eleven oClock on Saturday night last as he was
coming met of the Bedford Arms Alehouse in
Charlette Street Bloomsbury he this Informant
roas Assaulted by Two Men Namely Williams Hall< no role >
and John Powell< no role > the said [..] John Powell< no role > Struck
him and called him a Smuggling son of a Bitch
and William Hall< no role > Took away this Informants
Hat and two Pounds Weight of Tea and Both the
said Powell and Hall went away together with
the said Hat and Tea and this Informant did
not see them untill the next day when they were
taken into Custody.
