he acquainted Capn. Lyseght with Capt. Hay's
being there and Capn. Hay was desired to go
up Stairs to Mr. Lyseght, Says that they were
up Stairs together about five Minutes, and as
Captn. Hay came down Dept. heard him say, That
he prevented Capn. Mostyn's doing Capn. Clarke
more Mischief, and that he and a Number of
Capn. Mostyn's Friends had endeavoured to
prevail on Capn. Mostyn to make an Apology
but to no purpose, and Capn. Hay then went
away, Says that Mr. Lyseght afterwards
informed Dept. that Capt. Hay had appointed
Eleven o'Clock on Friday for their Meeting
at the Coffee-house to [..] see whether
they could Accommodate Matters between
the two Gentlemen, Says that on Friday
about half past Ten Mr. Lyseght went out
in a Coach and returned in about an hour
saying he had seen Capn. Hay but Capn. Mostyn
was not in Town, but he should hear as soon as
Capn. Mostyn come to Town, Says that about
half past Two that day Capn. Mostyn & Capn. Hay
come together to Depts. House asked if Capn.
Lyseght & Capn. Clarke were there, and being
told that Capn. Lyseght was at home they both
went up Stairs to him, in a few Minutes
Capn. Lyseght called for a Pen and Ink, which
Dept. furnished them with, Says that in less
than a Quarter of an hour Capn. Mostyn and
Capn. Hay come down Stairs and went away
That Capn. Lyseght soon came down, saying they
could not Accommodate Matters and that
their Meeting was unavoidale as Military
Men, and told Dept. that they were to meet at the
Military Academy Little Chelsea , That he
wished to Postpone it until the next Morning on Account of his illness
but that Capn. Mostyn would not listen to it, but
insisted on its being that Evening, Says that
Capn. Lyseght went out in a Coach about three o' Clock
and returned in a Coach with Capn. Clarke about
five
