Alehouse in old Gravel Lane Saith That Clarke
Came into Informants house about half after
Nine on the fifth of Novr. with a Knife in
his Hand And said he had Killed a Man
Informant Answer'd Why You are Mad
Clarke again said he had Killed a Man and
would Resign himself up to Informant
After saying so several times
Informant Asked him Where
He Answer'd at the Hoop and Bunch of Grafes
Informant then Asked him Who
And he told Informant Johnson For he had
seen Johnson and his Bitch or Where gething
out of a Window or a Door Informant cannot
Say whichThat Informants Wife
upon this Said how can you say You have
Killed the ManWhen the Man is Just
gone by, And Therefore Informant did
not think what he had said was True
Saith That he did not see any Blood on the
KnifeThat it was not a Claye'd Knife
That Clarke was much in Liquor and did not
Appear to be in his SencesBelieves he
Staid about Ten Minutes
