The Informations of George Alder< no role > and Mary< no role > his Wife taken
on Oath before us two of his Majestys Justices of the Peace in and
for the said County this 4th day of Octr 1781

And First the said George Alder< no role > Says that on the Evening of the First of
Octr. [..] Instant His Apartments in a House No 152. in the Parish of St. Mary Whitechapel
on the North side of the Turnpike Road was in Danger of being burnt by the
Fire which happened at that Time at a Public house known by the Sign
of the Queens head next door but one to where this Informant Lived
That Endeavouring to save his Goods from being burnt his friends aided
him [..] to remove part of his Goods at which Time he saw the
Prisoner who calls himself Joseph Wright< no role > in his said Apartments very busy
carrying Goods and Apparel out of his said ApartmentsThat Yesterday as this
Informant was enquiring of his Neighbours if any of them had any of
his Property the said Joseph Wright< no role > came to this Informant and said
he had Two armed (hairs his Property which he would deliver and accordingly
he did deliver to this Informant the said Two Armed Chairs That this Informant
asked the said Joseph Wright< no role > if he had any more of his Property the would Satisfy
him for his Trouble That the said Joseph Wright< no role > said he had not any thing Else
That this Informant Suspecting the said Joseph Wright< no role > to have more of his Property
having seen him with a Bundle under his Arm going from his house at the Time of the said [..] Obtained a
Search Warrant to search his Lodgings that before he put the said Warrant in
Execution and in Presence of John Term The Headborough The said Joseph Wright< no role >
declared positively that he had not in his posession any Goodsandor things of this
Informant [..] who further sayth that on Searching the Apartments of the said Joseph Wright< no role >
He found One Linnen Handkerchief One Pair of Cordesoy Breeches one Pair of Cloth Breeches
One Flannel Ironing Cloth, One Blanket One Surtout Great Coat One Brown Cloth Coat
and Waistcoat with metal Buttons, One Printed Linnen Gown One Piece of Floor Cloth
his property and which Goods and Apparel he this Informant declares on his Oath were
taken out of his Apartments Situate as aforesaid at the Time of the said Fine And
Mary the Wife of the said George Alder< no role > Declares that the Collimencoe Pettycoat
found on the person of Ann Wright< no role > Altho says she is Marryed to the said Joseph
Wright
< no role > [..] is the Property of her husband George Alder< no role > and was taken
out of his Apartments during the said Fine
