The Voluntary Confession of Thos. Woodman< no role >
taken [..] before us Three of his Majesty's
Justices of the Peace in and for the said County

Who [..] Saith that about Eight or
Nine Months ago he [..] Hole a new Great Coat out of the Cabber
of a Boat belonging to his Master Thomas Johnson< no role > of
Broad Street Ratcliff which he gave to Edward Balten
who gave him two shillings for same. That about a
Week or a Fortnight after he came on Shore and Stole
out of Mr. Johnsons Ware house One Cotton Shirt and one
Pair of Shoes which he likewise gave to the said Edward
Batten
< no role > who gave him Two shillings and Six pence
for the same. That about a Month or two after the
last mentioned time he Stole One Pair of Corderoy
Breeches from Mr. Johnsons Warehouse which he
delivered to the said Edward Batten< no role > who gave him
One Shilling for the same and promised to give him
More but never did, That about a Week afterwards he
Stole two Cheek Shirts from the said Warehouse which
he delivered to the said Edward Batten< no role > and for which
he gave him two shillings. That about Three Weeks
ago he stole One Pair of Shoes from out of the said
Warehouse which he delivered to the said Edward Batten< no role >
and for which he gave Examinant one Shillings That about
one Week ago he Stole from the said Warehouse One
Pair of Corderoy Breeches and One Pair of Shoes (both of
which are new produced) which he delivered to the said
Edward Batten< no role > and for which he gave this ExaminantDeponent
Half a Crown. Lastly Saith that the said Edward
Batten
< no role > when he [..] was going to receive any thing
ExaminantDeponenthad Stolen used to Caution him not to let
any Person See him
