Who being upon Oath say, and first the said Elizabeth

for herself says, that she is Servant to the said Josiah Emery< no role >
That about ¼ before 8 this morning, as she was going into the Parlours
she perceived a person now present who calls himself John Oakey< no role >
,
who with his hand reached over the Shop Board, and took from
off a Hook in her said Marten Shop a Watch, on which she
laid hold of him by the Coat and cried out "Stop Thief" That
the said John Oakey< no role >
immediately ran away, and within a few
Yards of the Door dropped the said Watch; which she is very
sure is the Watch now producedThe said Josiah Emery< no role >
for
himself says, that the said Watch is his property and was with
two other gold Watches was produced in his Shop at half past 7 o'Clock this
morning-The said Thomas Adams< no role >
for himself says, that as he
was passing along Cockspur Street
this morning a little before 8
o'Clock, near the said Josiah Emerys< no role >
Shop
, he heard a Cry of "Stop
Thief", and saw said John Oakey< no role >
running away; on which he
pursued him, and after having followed him about 50 yards,
the said Okey threw away the said two Gold Watches, and the
said William Ward< no role >
for himself says, that on hearing the Cry of "Stop
Thief" he apprehended the said Okey in St. Albam Street.
