Nicholas Stanley< no role > of the White Lyon in White Hart Yard Drury Lane
in the parish of Saint Martin in the Fields in the County of Middlesex Stone
Mason and Thomas Boon< no role > Servant to Mr. Jarvis of Fotter Lane in the parish
of Saint Dunstan in the West in the City of London Pawnbroker Severally Make
Oath and Say That on the Twenty Seventh Day of November last those
Deponents were severally bound in Recognizance before Sir John Fielding< no role > Knt.
one of his Majesty's Justices of the peace for the said County of Middlesex
in the Penalty of Forty Pounds each upon Condition that this Deponent
Nicholas Stanley< no role > should prosecute and the said other Deponent Thomas Boon< no role >
give Evidence in his Majesty's behalf at the then next Session of Gaol
Delivery against John Clarke< no role > for Feloniously taking and carrying away
a pair of Silver Buckles the property of the said Nicholas Stanley< no role > And
those Deponent further Say That on the Tenth Day of December last they did
Attend at Hicks Hall and did there prefer a Bill of Indictment against the
said John Clarke< no role > for the Felony aforesaid and this Deponent Nicholas Stanley< no role >
(a very little time before the Grand Jury broke up and were Adjourned until
the next Morning) was called and examined before then but the other
Deponent Thomas Boon< no role > staid waiting at the Door of the Room in which the
Grand Jury were doing their Business until they broke up and were Adjourned
until the next Morning and was not called in to give his Evidence before them
therefore he Concluded that the Grand Jury had thought the Evidence of the
prosecutor Sufficient to find the Bill and that they did not intend to Examine
this Deponent thereon And these Deponent further Severally Says that on the
next Morning being the Eleventh Day of the said Month of December they did
go to Hicks Hall aforesaid in order to Search with the Clerk of the peace
whether the aforesaid Bill of Indictment was returned a True Bill or not
and they were there informed by the Clerk there that he same was returned a
True Bill and that they should immediatly go to the Sessions House in the
Old Bailey which both these Deponents accordingly did and Staid there all that
Day And they did also Attend at the aforesaid Sessions House in the Old
Bailey from Day to Day until the Jury that were sitting there for the County
of Middlesex were Discharged and upon that they immediately went and
informed the said Mr. Jarvis thereof and he went back with these Deponent
to the Sessions House in the Old Bailey and enquired of Mr. Deacon the
Clerk o the Arraigns for the said County of Middlesex whether the Jury
were Discharged and wether he had not received an Indictment against the
