Robert Michael< no role > John of Parrott Alley East
Smithfield Mariner Maketh Oath and Saith that he was on
or about the Eighteenth day of December last bound by a Recognizance
before John Sherwood< no role > Esquire one of his Majesty's Justices of the
peace for the said County of Middlesex in the penal Sum of
forty pounds Upon Condition that he this Deponent should give
Evidence at the then next Session of Gaol Delivery of Newgate on
a Bill of Indictment to be preferred by one John Barry< no role > against
the said Margaret Dyer< no role > and Ann Stewart< no role > For Feloniously taking
and carrying away One Guinea and a Silk Handkerchief the
property of the said John Barry< no role > And this Deponent Saith that
he could not give any Evidence against the said prisoners as he
knew nothing of the Robbery they had committed neither did
this Deponent then or ever after know that he was bound by
any Recognizance whatever to give Evidence against the said
Margaret Dyer< no role > and Ann Stewart< no role > until he received Notice that
his recognizance would be Estreated about a week ago And this
Deponent Saith that if he had Known that he was bound in
a Recognizance to give Evidence against the said prisoners he should
have Attended pursuant to the Condition thereof And this Deponent
Saith that he did not neglect to Attend and give Evidence against
the said prisoners through any favour or Affection to the said
prisoners or for any Reward or the hope or promise thereof
therefore this Deponent humbly prays that this Honourable Court
will be pleased to Order his said recognizance to be Discharged
