The Information of John Howard< no role >
of the Hyde near Edward Theophilus
Simms
< no role > at Mr Morris a Brick maker
taken before me One of his Majesty's
Justices of the peace for the said County

Who severally being upon Oath say and first this
Informant John Howard< no role > for himself saith that
a little after Six o Clock in the Evening on Thursday
last he was going home from London [..] House [..] &
little last to his House at the Hyde in the County of Middlesex
that when he came into the bottom about a Mile and a
half on this side of the Hyde a Man which he
believes from his height & Dress to be the person now
present who calls himself John Harp< no role > came up
to him as how as sitting in his last & with a large
drawn broad sword which he believes to be the Broad
Sword now produced & demanded the Money of this
Informant & desired him not to be frightened upon
which this Informant gave him some Silver
which he believes was about five Shillings
& then the said person left him & went on towards
London this Informant saith that the said person
hold the said Sword over this Informants head

And this Informant Theophilus Simms< no role > for
himself saith that he lives at Childs Hill a little
beyond Hampstead on the County of Middlesex that
about four o'Clock in the afternoon on Sunday last
he was at a public House at Childs Hill. Where
he saw a Person now present who calls himself John
Harp
< no role > . with the Broad. Sword now produced in his hand
& the said John Harp< no role > stayed in the said House about
five Minutes but upon several people who were in the
said House at the same time. saying to each other that
they believed him to be the Man by the Description who
had Robbed Mr. Howard [..] the other Informant on the
Thursday before he Immediately [..] went
