The humble Petition of Samuel Wilson< no role >
a prisoner
in Newgate
Sheweth
That Your Petitioner was two Sessions ago committed to prison by
Sir
John Fielding< no role >
charged with concealing and imbezzleing his Effect to the
amount of £20 with an intent to defraud his Creditors.
That Your Petr. is totally innocent of the Crime of which he is charged
That Your Petr. prosecutors did not prefer any Bill of Indictmt. at either of the
two last Sessions against your Petr. but found means at the first Sessions to
continue your Petr. in prison till the last Sessions when the Court on the
Application of Your Petr. was pleased to Order that Your Petr. shd. be admitted to
Bail but your Petr. being very ill and his Credit totally destroyed by the
Prosecution against him he has not been able to induce any of his Friends
to because Bail for him.
That this is the third Sessions since your Petr. was first committed
and no Bill of Indictment having yet been found against him
Your Petr. therefore most humbly prays
that he may either be Tryed or discharged
out of Custody this present Session pursuant
to the Statute in such Case made and provided
And your Petrs. shall ever pray Etc
