An Inquisition indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the KING at The Parish of Saint Botolph
Aldgate In the County Middlesex , the ninth Day of September in the twenty fifth Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the third , by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland, KING Defender of
the Faith, Etc. before Thomas Phillips< no role > one of the Coroners of our said Lord
the KING, for the said County, on veiw of the body of John Helmer< no role >
then and there lying dead upon the Oath of Jonathan

Nicholas Ohbrogen< no role > , Peter Eachus< no role > , Samuel Sparepoint< no role > , Thomas Tealing< no role >

good and lawful Men of the said County duly chosen as by law required and who being, then and there duly sworn
and charged, to enquire for our said Lord the KING, when, how, and by what means the said John Helmer< no role >
came to h is Death, Do upon their Oath say, That the said John
Helmer on this Ninth Day of September in the Year aforesaid being in an
open Boat on the River Thames at The Hermitage in the Parish of Saint
John Wapping< no role > in the County aforesaid And endeavouring to unmoor a
Ship called The Britain It so happened That he the said John Helmer< no role >
then and there accidentally, casually and by Misfortune fell from the said
Boat into the River aforesaid And was in the Waters thereof then and
there suffocated and drowned of which said Suffocation and Drowning he the
said John Helmer< no role > then and there died And so the Jurors aforesaid upon
their Oath aforesaid Do say That the said John Helmer< no role > in Manner and
by the Means aforesaid accidentally, casually and by Misfortune came to his Death

In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner, as the said, Jonathan Collins< no role > the Foreman of
the said Jurors on behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows, in their presence, have to this Inquisition set their
Hands and Seals the Day and Year first abovementioned
