Middlesex to wit


An Inquisition Indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at
the Parish of Saint Mary White Chappell in the County of Middlesex the thirty first
Day of May in the Twenty fifth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the
third by the Grace of God of Great Britain, Franke and Ireland King, Defender of the
Faith and so forth before Thomas Phillips< no role > One of the Coroners of our said Lord the
King for the said County on View of the Body of Alexander Small< no role > an Infant then
and there lying dead upon the Oath of Benjamin Rice< no role > This name instance is in set 3176. , John Youings< no role > , Thomas

good and lawfull men of the said County duly chosen And who being then and there
duly sworn and Charged to Inquire for our said Lord the King when how and by
what means the said Alexander Small< no role > came to his Death Do upon their Oath
Say That the said Alexander Small< no role > on the Twenty fourth Day of May in the Year
aforesaid being an Infant of the Age of Five years or thereabouts and being at Play
in the Kings Highway called The Back Lane in the Parish of Saint Paul Shadwell
in the County aforesaid It so happened That a Grey Mare On which Joseph Mentioned
of the said Parish of Saint Paul Shadwell Ship Builder was then and there riding
accidentally, casually and by Misfortune struck the said Alexander Small< no role > on the Head
By Means whereof he the said Alexander Small< no role > then and there received One Mortal
Fracture in and upon the Skull of him the said Alexander Small< no role > , Of which said
mortal Fracture he the said Alexander Small< no role > [..]
[..] from the said Twenty fourth Day of May in
the year aforesaid untill the Thirtieth Day of the same Month in the same
Year at the Parish last aforesaid And also at the Parish first abovementioned
did Languish and Languishing did Live, On which said Thirtieth Day of May
in the Year aforesaid he the said Alexander Small< no role > at the Parish first abovementioned
of the Mortal Fracture aforesaid did die And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their
Oath aforesaid Do say That the said Alexander Small< no role > notin Manner and by
the Means aforesaid accidentally casually and by Misfortune Came to his Death
And that the said Grey Mare was the Cause of the death of the said Alexander Small< no role > And is of the Price of Five Shillings and the Property and
in the Possession of said Joseph Monitone< no role > In Witness whereof as well the said
Coroner as the said Benjamin Rice< no role > the Foreman of the said Jurors on the Behalf
of himself and the rest of his said Fellows in the Presence have to his Inquisition
set their Hands and Seals the Day and year first abovewritten
