AN INQUISITION Indented, Taken for our Sovereign Lord the King, at The Parish
of Enfield in the County of
Middlesex , the Twenty fourth Day of July in the Twenty second Year of the Reign of our
Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third , by the Grace of God, of Great-Britain, France, and
Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas Phillips< no role >
one of the Coroners of our said Lord the King for the said County, on View of the Body of
William Brown< no role > then and there lying dead, upon the Oath of
Joseph Leech< no role > , Joseph Slade< no role > , John Coster< no role > , John Munns< no role > , John King< no role > , John Chesatt,
James Dresdale< no role > , Robert Lake< no role > , Thomas Forster< no role > , Robert Crosby< no role > , Jabez Werner, Thomas
Farron, William Saunders< no role > , John Johnson< no role > , James Purton< no role > , Thomas Tokebove and John
Lawford
good and lawful Men of the said County, duly chosen, and who being then and there duly
sworn and charged to inquire, for our said Lord the King, when, how, and by what Means, the
said William Brown< no role > came to his
Death, Do, upon their Oath, say, That The said William Brown< no role > on the Twenty second
Day of July in the Year aforesaid being a Carpenter at workman Old Summer House
belonging to Sir Thomas Hallifax< no role > Knight at the Parish and in the County aforesaid It
so happened That he the said William Brown< no role > then and there accidentally, casually
and by Misfortune fell from the said top of the said Summer House to and against the marble
Pavements of the same By means whereof the aforesaid William Brown< no role > then and

IN WITNESS whereof, as well the said Coroner as the said Joseph Leech< no role >
the Foreman of the said Jurors, on the Behalf of himself and the Rest of his said Fellows, in
their Presence, have, to this Inquisition, set their Hands and Seals, the Day and Year first
above written.
