AN INQUISITION Indented, Taken for our Sovereign Lord the King, at the Parish
of Enfield in the County of
Middlesex , the Fifth Day of December in the twenty Second Year of the Reign of our
Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third , by the Grace of God, of Great-Britain, France, and
Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas Phillips< no role >
one of the Coroners of our said Lord the King for the said County, on View of the Body of
John Prior< no role > an Infant then and there lying dead, upon the Oath of
Jabez Warner< no role > John Lawford< no role > Joseph Mathews< no role > John Cheshett< no role > William Johnson< no role > John
Fishwick Galen Osbourn George Smith< no role > Robert Carr< no role > Edward Young< no role > James Dresdale< no role > William Hicks< no role >
James Tagg< no role > Benjamin Crough< no role > John King< no role > Thomas Viton< no role > & Sinclair Sutter< no role >
good and lawful Men of the said County, duly chosen, and who being then and there duly
sworn and charged to inquire, for our said Lord the King, when, how, and by what Means, the
said John Pryor< no role > came to his
Death, Do, upon their Oath, say, That the said John Prior< no role > on the Thirtieth Day of
November in the Year aforesaid being an Infant of the Age of Four Years or thereabouts
and being by a certain Fire which was then burning in the Dwelling House of his
Father John Priyor situate in the Parish and County aforesaid It so happened that
a certain Pot of Scalding [..] setting on the said Fire by one Ma [..]
Seales then and there [..] this fortune fell do [..]
whereof the Bre [..]

aforesaid in the [..] languish and languishing did [..]
which said First Day of [..] Year aforesaid he the said John Priyor
at the Parish aforesaid in the County aforesaid of the Mortal Scalding and Burning
aforesaid did die And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do say
That the said John Pryor< no role > in Manner and by the Means aforesaid accidentally casually
and by Misfortune Came to his Death

IN WITNESS whereof, as well the said Coroner as the said Jabez Warner< no role >
the Foreman of the said Jurors, on the Behalf of himself and the Rest of his said Fellows, in
their Presence, have, to this Inquisition, set their Hands and Seals, the Day and Year first
above written.
