Informations of Witnesses taken at the Dwelling House of
John Welladvine< no role > the Sign of the Seven Stars .
in old Brentford in the Parish of Ealing in the County of
Middlesex on Thursdaythe secondday of
March. 1786 Before Edward Umfreville< no role > Esquire
one of his Majesty's Coroners for the said County touching the
Death of Esther Shewen< no role > then and
there lying Dead as follow.

Henry Stocker< no role > of Old Brentford aforesaid Gardener
Upon his Oath Saith That he has lodged with
Alexander Shewen< no role > a Gardener many years. and for
the last three Months has been constantly at his
Lodgings except during his hours of labour and when
he took some Refreshment.That about Two
Months. since the said Alexander Shewen< no role > took the
deceased (who was his Name into his House to
maintain as Deponent apprehends the Father was
unable to maintain it Saith that during the
whole time the said deceased was with the said
Alexander Shewen< no role > he and his Wife treated her
with the greatest tendernessthat on Wednesday
the twenty second of February the deceased was
taken ill of a Cold and continued so ill untill SaturdaySunday
last and then died that during all that time
in particular Deponent is saw from what he saw
that the said Alexander Shewen< no role > and his Wife
showed her every tender attention.
