Thomas Fuller< no role > a Servant to the late Mr. Horseman on his Oath saith
he Knows Joseph Richards< no role > who was a Fellow servant of his and was
turned away the Thursday month before the Accident happened and
afterwards came frequently to the Deceaseds House for victuals which
Mrs. Horseman gave him without the Deceased Knowledged in hopes
of keeping him Out of bad Company. Saith that one morning about
afortnight before the Accident happened he went up to Bill Horsemans
Room to call him as he load three Cows to milk and when Came into
the Room the said Joseph Richards< no role > was in bed with this Examinants
Bedfellow Loveless and Seeing an Orange upon the Table Examinant
took it up and asked him how it came there Bill Horseman said Joseph
gave it to him so as he might not say any thing of his lying there to his Master
The said Joseph Richards< no role > had all his Cloths on, Saith that the deceased and
this examinant used to get up together at five o Clock each morning and
when they went out used to leave the Back door of the House upon a
Latch so that any one might get in. Saith that on Saturday Morning
the eleventh instant a little after one O Clock he was alarmed by something
in the Room which frightned this examinant and he Crept under the
Cloaths and soon after went to Sleep. Saith he waked soon afterwards
and heard a Groaning and presently afterwards heard the deceased
tell a little Child who Slept with him to Call Mrs. Horseman heard the
Child Call and then Examinant called Bill Horseman and bid him
call his Mother he got up immediately and did so, saith there is a
Cupboard over the bed in which examinant and his Companion Kept.
which he observed to be open after the Accident happened and is sure
that it was Shut when examinant went to bed on the Friday Evening
and never Knewit open of itself as it Sticks Close when Shut. and Saith
that a piece of the head board of the Bedstead was broke off which Examinant
never saw before and Saith that there was the mark of a Foot against
that part of the Board that was broke and another mark of a Foot
on one side of the Bedstead which marks appeared to be White
as if from the Wall
