Informations of Witnesses taken at the Dwelling House
of William Rhodes< no role > the Sign of the Coach and Horse
in the Parish of St. James Clerkenwell in the County
of Middlesex on Tuesdaythe third day of
January1786 Before Edward Umfreville< no role > Esquire
one of his Majestys Coroners for the said County touching.
the Death of Charles Poytner< no role > then and
there lying Dead as follow

Michael Shaw< no role > of Taylor Buildings
Islington Road in the Parish aforesaid Father in
Law o f the deceased on his Oath Saith That on Sunday
last the deceased with whom Deponent lived in
Taylor Buildings aforesaid same home with
his two Daughter about Nine O Clock and came
into the Parlom where Deponent was silling and
said apparently in great for [..] to his Wife that some body was
consping to take his [..] hand from him, and bollet
the Street door in seeming fear as some person or
Persons were after him and went in a worn
adjoining which was his Bed Room and set down
up the foot of the Bed opposite a Burcan Desk
the flap of which to let down to write upon and
began to dose but shortly afterwards get up and
shut the Door of his Bed Room and his Wife who
was then sitting in the Parlom with this Deponent
went out of the Room and within fine or six
