An Inquisition indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at The Parish of Saint Mary
Le Bone in the County of Middlesex , the Third Day of February in the 23d Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the third , by the Grace of God of Great Britain, France and Ireland, KING, Defender of
the Faith, Etc. before Edward Umfreville< no role > one of the Coroners of Our said Lord
the KING, for the said County, on view of the body of Thomas Keen< no role >
then and there lying dead, upon the Oath of Joseph Lawford< no role >
William Leach< no role > , Joshua Owen< no role > , William Barrett< no role > , John Pope< no role > , Thomas Keays< no role >
John Goodeves< no role > John Piper< no role > , Thomas Denham< no role > , Richard Machan John
Bird and Peter Hill< no role >
good and lawful Men of the said County duly chosen as by Law required, and who being then and there duly sworn
and charged to enquire for our said Lord the KING, when, how, and by what means the said Thomas Keen< no role >
came to h is Death, Do upon their Oath say, That the said Thomas
Keen not being of sound mind memory and Understanding but Lunatic and
distracted on the First Day of February in the Year aforesaid One End of a
small Cord to a Beam inthea Haycoft in the Parish and County aforesaid
and the other End thereof about his own Neck did fix tye and fasten and
therewith did then and there hang suffocate and strangle himself of which
said Hanging Suffocation and Strangling he the said Thomas Keen< no role > the
and there died And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid
Do say That the said Thomas Keen< no role > not being of sound Mind Memory
and understanding but Lunatic and distracted in Manner and by
the Means aforesaid Did kill himself

In Witness whereof, as well the said Coroner, as the said Joseph Lawford< no role > the Foreman of
the said Jurors on behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows, in their presence, have to this Inquisition set their
Hands and Seals the Day and Year first abovementioned
