{An Inquisition indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at the parish of Saint [..]
in the County of Middlesex , the thirty first Day of July in the 22d Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the third , by the Grace of God of Great Britain, France and Ireland, KING, Defender of
the Faith, Etc. before Edward Umfreville< no role > one of the Coroners of Our said Lord
the KING, for the said County, on view of the body of a Male Child New Born
then and there lying dead, upon the oath of Thomas Mullett John
Salter James Hall< no role > Ingram Sinclair Samuel< no role > Garnet Stephen< no role >
Hool Christopher Grocer, Swan Keene< no role > , John Buckingham< no role > Samuel
Coney, James Steward< no role > , John Jones< no role > , James Callcutt and James Bedard< no role >
good and lawful Men of the said County duly chosen as by Law required, and who being then and there duly sworn
and charged to enquire for our said Lord the KING, when, how, and by what means the said Male Child
new born came to h is Death, Do upon their Oath say, That Some Person or Persons to the
Jurors aforesaid as yet unknown not having the Fear of God before his, her or their Eyes but
being moved and reduced by the Instigation of the Devil on the Twenty Eighth Day of July in the
Year aforesaid at the Parish and in the County aforesaid in and upon the said New born male
Child in the Peace of God and of our said Lord the King then and there being feloniously, Wilfully
and of his, her or their Malice aforethought did make an Assault And That the said Person or
Persons so as aforesaid unknown the said New born Male Child in a Womans Shift Did then and
there feloniously Wilfully and of his her or their Malice aforethought [..] 5th and fold [..] [..] done thenthe said New born
Male Child so wrapp'd up and folded as aforesaid into a certain Stream of Water situate in the
Parish and County aforesaid Did then and there feloniously, Wilfully and of his, her or their Malice
aforethought Cast and throw By means whereof he the said New born Male Child was in
the said Stream of Water then and there suffocated and Drowned of which said Suffocation and Drowning
he the said New born Male Child then and there died And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid
Do say That the said Person or Persons so as aforesaid unknown him the said New born Male Children Manner and by the Means
aforesaid feloniously, Wilfully and of his, her or their Malice aforethought did kill and Murder against
the Peace of our said Lord the King his Crown and Dignity

In Witness whereof, as well [..] the said Coroner, as the said Thomas Mullett< no role > the Foreman of
the said Jurors on behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows, in their presence, have to this Inquisition set their
Hands and Seals the Day and Year first abovementioned.
