An Inquisition Indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at the Liberty of [..] Kells in the Parish of
St. Dunstan West in the County of Middlesex , the 28th. Day of May in the 22nd. Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the third , by the Grace of Great Britain, France and Ireland, KING, Defender of
the Faith, Etc. before Edward Umfreville< no role > Esqr . one of the Coroners of Our said Lord
the KIMG, for the said County, on view of the body Mr. [..] ner born female child
then and there lying dead, upon the oath of Edwd. Flower< no role > Joseph Simpson< no role >
Mr. Richd Jones< no role > Frans. Pringry Abrot Francis Petn Crowe Thos Bratton< no role > John Atherfold< no role >
John Walmslay< no role > Frans. Hollings< no role > Wm. Hunter< no role > and John Hall< no role >

good and lawful Men of the said County duly chosen as by Law required, and who being then and there duly sworn
and charged to enquire for our said Lord the King, when, how, and by what means the said New Born female
Child came to h er Death, Do upon, their Oath say, That Sarah Russell< no role > This name instance is in set 731. This set is in the group(s): MothersOBP . late of the Liberty
Parish and County aforesaid Single Woman that on the 26th. Day of May in the Year
Aforesaid at the Liberty Parish and County aforesaid being then and their bigg with said
New born female Child afterward to wit on the Same Day and Year aforesaid in the Liberty Parish and County
aforesaid the said female Child alone and Surety from her Body by the Providence of God did bring forth
a live which said Female Child by the Laws and Customs of this Kingdom was a Bastard and that the said
Sarah Russell< no role > Not having the fear of God before her Eyes but Moved and Seduced by the Instigation of the Devill
to wit on the said Day and Year with forced & Arms at the Liberty Parish & County aforesaid in & Upon the said
New Borne Female Child so a live and in the Peace of God & our said Lord the King then & there being feloniously
did Make an Assault said that the said Sarah Russell< no role > then the said New born female Child did then & there
take into her hands and her the said Newborn female Child into a Certain Prior or Necessary House there situate
then & there feloniously wilfully and of her Malice fore thought did Violently Cast and throw down by Means
there of the said New femail Child in the Soils & fill then & there Contained in the said Privy was then & there
Suffocated and Smothered of which said Suffocation & Smothering she the New Born femail Child then & there
Instantly Died in Manner & by the Means aforesaid & that the said Sarah Russell< no role > at the time of the doing and
Committing thereof or at any time since she had no Goods Chattells Lands or Tennements within the said County or Els where
to the Knowlege Notice of the said [..]
In Witness where, as well [..] the said Coroner, as the said Edwd. Flowers< no role > the Foreman of
the said Jurors on behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows, in their presence have to the Inquisition set their
Hands and Seals the Day and Year first abovementioned
