An Inquisition Indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at London (that
is to say) at the Parish of Saint Bridget otherwise Bride in the Ward of Farringdon without
in London aforesaid on the twenty fifth day of May in the thirty ninth year of the reign
of our Sovereign Lord George the third King of Great Britain and so forth before Thomas Shelton< no role >
Gentleman Coroner of our said Lord the King for the City of London and Borough of Southwark
on view of the body of Samuel Haines Marriott now here lying dead by the Oath of John
Forster John Wightman< no role > Nathaniel Bannister< no role > James Dolemain< no role > John Fisher< no role > Robert Moore< no role >
Samuel Bonner< no role > Thomas Swindell< no role > John Chaffey< no role > Richard Stephens< no role > James Sheen< no role > William
Cheeseman and James Vollar good and lawful men of the City of London aforesaid who being
now here duly chosen sworn and charged to inquire for our said Lord the King when how
and in what manner the said Samuel Haines Marriott came to his death say upon
their Oath that the said Samuel Haines Marriott on the twenty fourth day of May in
the year aforesaid being a prisoner in his Majestys prison of the Fleet there situate and being
then and there sick and languishing It so happened that the said Samuel Haines Marriott on
the same day and year last aforesaid within the prison aforesaid by the visitation of God died a
natural death and by no violent means or manner whatsoeverIn Witness whereof as
well the said Coroner as the said John Forster< no role > the foreman of the said Jurors on behalf of
himself and the rest of his fellows in their presence have to this Inquisition set their
hands and seals the day year and place first abovewritten
