Informatons of Witnesses taken at the parish of
Christ Church in the Ward of Farringdon
within in London the 21 May 1799
on view of the body of Thomas Dixon< no role >
there lying dead.

Charles Welch< no role > a prisnr . for debt in His Mjtys
Gaol of Newgate maketh oath that the deced came a
Prisr. to the same place for debt last Friday. That last
Sunday Morning Dept was walking up and down the Ward
with another prisoner and hearing a noise of a person in
the privcy as if something was the master with him he [..]
with a stood broke she doo [..] & saw the deced lying upon
the Seal of the necessary with blood issuing from his neck.
That Dept immeds. called to the assistance of the deced Mr. Sheer
Surgeon who is also in the same prison

William Keene< no role > a prisoner for debt in His Mjty
Gaol of Newgate by profession a Surgeon maketh oath
that last Sunday morning Dept was called upon by the last
Witness Charles welch< no role > to go and see the deced when he sayed
had cut his throat - Upon which Dept went to the deced [..]
found him sitting upon the necessary with his Throat cut
The wound was deep quite to the neck bone and his Wind pipe
was divided. Dept with assistance got the deced from the necessary
& endeavoured to stop the effusion of blood other medical
assistance came presently afterwards and also Mr. Ramsden
The Surgeon and every [..] proper means were used towards
the deced but he was so much injured that he died a few
hours afterwards.
