Southwark

Depositions of Witnesses taken as the Parish
of Saint John within the Brough of Southwark
in the County of Surrey this 11th day of April
1798 on view of the body of Mary Pritchard< no role >
now here lying Dead.

Margaret wife of James Remmington< no role > of 74 Freemans
Lane Horseley Down Waterman maketh Oath that
a little before eleven on Monday Morning last [..] in
consequence of some alarm Dept. went to her
Nighbours House next Door No.23 kept by Mr. James
Pritchard Dept. and Mr. Blincoe< no role > went up to the
one pr. of Stairs front Room that the deced was hanging
by a piece of Cord fastened from the top part of the
fast of the Bedstead Mr. Blincoe cut the deced
down Dept. received her in her Arms she was warm
but no appearance of Life the deced was placed on
the Bed soon after a Surgeon came bled the deced
very little blood came from her Dept. says she has
known the deced about seven years Dept. says
the deced was an elderly Woman and she has
heard her say the was about fifty one years of age

Honeley Down Ship wright maketh Oath that she hath
known the deced about three year that about this
fortnight or three Weeks past the deced has appeared
very last Dall and Melancholy Dept. observing the
deced very dull and melancholy asked her what was
the matter she sayed she was in a great deal of
trouble she was not long for this Life she was very
much distressed Dept. says she saw the deced
standing as her ever on Sunday Morning about eight oClock
that she then appeared very low.
