Depositions of Witnesses taken at London
that is to say as the Parish of Saint Botolph
without Aldersgate in the Ward of Aldersgate
without in London aforesaid this 10th day of
April 1798 on view of the body of Sarah
Arms

Francis Phipps< no role > of Maidenhead Court Aldersgate Street
Beadle of St Botolph without Aldersgate maketh Oath that
about eleven in the forenoon of Sunday last on application
to Dept. he went to No.8 Maidenhead Court aforesaid Dept
the House of Mr. Joseph Orme< no role > that Mr. Orme himself was the person who applied to Dept that he found the deced
Sarah Orme< no role > whom he understood to be the Wife of the
said Joseph Orme hanging by a Cord fastened round
a Piece of Wood that goes across at the top of the one
pair of Stairs landing place That some persons
prevent cut the deced down That she appeared to
be dead Dept. went after a Surgeon Dept. retuned
to the House soon after the deced Dept. believes was
taken into the one pair of Stairs of Room & Dept.
says he has known the deced about twenty five years
Dept. says the deced has appeared very dull and low
and wavered very much within this fortnight past
Dept. believes the deced and her Husband lived very
sociable and comfortable together.

Allen Holmes< no role > Apprentice to Mr. Joseph Arms of Maiden-
-head Court aforesaid maketh Oath that he saw the deced his
Mistress about five Minutes past seven on Sunday Morning
last that she was then in Bed having called to Dept. the
deced [..] uperight in her Bed and stared very much
as Dept. that she attered somethingbutvery incoherent
but what she sayed Dept. don't know that she never
had called to Dept. or his fellow Apprentice to his knowledge
before Dept. has been an Apprentice to Mr. Orme about
three years Dept. says about eight or nine Day past
the deced has appeared very much deranged Dept.
says he left his Mistress in bed as before mentioned about
five Minutes before Seven Dept. pulled the Door to which god
by a Spring Lock< no role > that no person but his Mistress was then
in the House Dept. says his Master he believes went out
about ½ past six same Morning & that his fellow Apprentice
went out a little before seven.
