London Depositions of Witnesses taken at London
that is to say, at the parish of Saint James
Garlick Hithe in the Ward of Vintry in
London aforesaid this 29th. day of August
1797 on view of the Body of Jane Davis< no role >
now here lying Dead.

Elizabeth Wife< no role > of John Perkins< no role > of No. 12 Black Swan Alley
in the parish of Saint James Garlick hithe Porter maketh Oath
That about seven oClock in the aftnoon of Tuesday last Dept. looking
out of her one pair of Stairs Window saw a Waggon loaded with
Flour drawn by four Horses belonging to Mr. Thomas White< no role >
of Kenneth Wharf Wharfinger Carman coming up Swan
Alley towards Thames Street . That just as the fore Horses of the Waggon got
opposite the House No. 11 next Door to Dept. the deced a little
Girl between two & three years of age ran out of the Door
of that house in order to cross to the other side-that the deced
got off the Pavement [..] near the Shaft Horse that the Horses
were drawn towards the opposite side & the Driver on the
near side of the Horses that the deced turned herself round
and her The catching the Kirb of the Pavement she felt
[..] backwards with her Head towards the middle of the
Waggon Way-that the Horses springing suddenly towards
Where the deced lay the off fore Wheel of the Waggon went
over past of the deceds Thigh-That Dept. crying out the
Driver immediately stopt his Horses-that the deceds Thigh
was pressed between the Kirb & the off fore Wheel of the
Waggon-That the deced was taken up & carried up Stairs
to her Father & Mother Room who lodge at the House No. 11
aforesaid

John Watford of Garlick Hill London Surgeon maketh
Oath thatthebetween seven & eighth Tuesday last the deced
was brought to Depts. house Dept. examined the deced-that
he found the skin of the deced rubbed off from the Temple
down the Cheek body Hip Thigh to the Right foot of the deced
that blood issued from different parts of the [..] -That the
deced had also a fragnance Wound [..] on the outside of the Right
Leg-That Dept. attended the deced until Sunday Morning
last when she departed this Life Dept. has no doubt the
external injury he observed on the deced as before described
occasioned the deceds Death
