An Inquisition Indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at the parish of
Saint Olave within the Borough of Southwark in the County of Surrey on the eleventh day
of July in the thirty seventh year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third
King of Great Britain Etc before Thomas Shelton< no role > Gentleman Coroner of our said Lord the
King for the City of London and Borough of Southwark on view of the body of Thomas Hoare< no role >
now here lying dead by the oath of Willliam West< no role > Joseph Jones< no role > Francis Butcher< no role > Joseph Barnes< no role >
Edward Mason< no role > James Bill< no role > John Turner< no role > Richard Clark< no role > John Langhilt< no role > Thomas Sharp< no role > William
Bedford George Squire< no role > & Daniel Watson< no role > good and lawful men of the Borough of Southwark who
being now here duly chosen sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the King when how
and in what manner the said Thomas Hoare< no role > came to his death say upon their oath that
the said Thomas Hoare< no role > on the ninth day of July in the year aforesaid being on the top
of a certain Vat in the brew house of Clewes and Company situate in the parish
aforesaid within theTown andBorough aforesaid in the County aforesaid It so happened that
the said Thomas Hoare< no role > accidentally casually and by misfortune fell down from and off
the said vat unto upon and against the ground there by means whereof the said
Thomas Hoare< no role > did then and there accidentally casually and by misfortune receive one
Mortal bruise on his head of which said mortal bruise he the said Thomas Hoare< no role >
did then and there die. And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their oath aforesaid do say
that the said Thomas Hoare< no role > in manner and by the means aforesaid accidentally
casually and by misfortune came to his death and not otherwise.In Witness
whereof as well the said Coroner as the said William West< no role > the foreman of the said
Jurors on behalf of himself and the rest of his fellows in their presence have to this Inquisition
set their hands and seals the day year and place first above written.
