that is to say, at the Parish of Saint Bridget
otherwise Bride in the Ward of Harringdon
without in London aforesaid the 1st: day of
May 1797 on view of the body of Joseph

Mary Stevens< no role > Servant to the deced Joseph Railton< no role > of [..] New
Bridge Street London Gentleman maketh Oath that she hath
been a servant to the deced about thirteen or fourteen MonthsThat about
ten Minutes before eight yesterday Morning when Dept. came
down Stairs her fellow servant John Gill< no role > Footman to the deced
asked her where he Master was Dept. ansd. he did not know
Gill sayed be signed as to go in the Office & look for himDept.
went thro the Offices at the back of the House and down the
Stairs to the privy & there found her Master sitting on the
seat of the Privy or Pistol in his right hand blood running
down his left side and blood on the Floor of the privythat
he appeared to be Dead Dept being alarmed [..] left the
privy& returning to the House met her fellow Servant Dept
went up Stairs & informed her Masters Brother Mr. John
Railton

before mentionedMr. John Railton< no role > Dept. and her fellow
Servant Eleanor the house Maid went to the PrivyMr. John
Railton fell the deced & sayed he was quite coldThat
about a fortnight past her Master has been very low spirited
& different to what he used to beThat her Master has lately
been to Bath for recovery of his Health having had the Goal
in his HeadThat before he went to Bath he was troubled with
Fits andfainted awayDept. recollects his fainting away at
three different times. That [..] the deceds Family consisted
of the decedhis Son JosephMr. John Railton< no role > his Brother Eleanor
the Home MaidJohn Gill< no role > the Fortman & Dept.

in the service of the deced between three and four MonthsThat
about ½ past eleven on Saturday Night last the deced went up
Stairs with his Brother Mr. John Railton< no role > in order to go to Bed
That about at Quarter past 8 Yesterday Morning on Dept. coming down
Stairs the House Maid Eleanor sayed she had been in her Masters
