Southwark

Deposition of a Witness taken at the Parish
of Saint George the Martyr within the
Borough of Southwark in the County of
Turrey this 8th. day of February 1796 on view
of the Body of Samuel Swaine< no role > now here
lying Dead

Jacob Elliott< no role > a Servant to Mr. Allport Keeper
of His Majesty< no role > 's Gaol for the County of Surrey maketh
Oath that he hath known the deced Samuel Swaine< no role >
about fourteen or fifteen Days that he was a Pris one
in the said Gaol for a Misdemeanour - that the deced
was taken ill about five or six Days after he came to
the Gaol with a pavor - That he continued to get
work daily until Saturday afternoon when he
departed this Life - That he was attended by the
Surgeon of the Gaol during his illness had every
caretaker of him that the situation of the place would
admit of and Dept. hos no doubt the aforesaid
disorder occasioned the deceds death
