Depositions of Witnesses taken at the
Parish of Saint Thomas within the
Borough of Southwark in the County of
Surrey this 16th: day of January 1796
on view of the Body of Ann Esther now
here lying Dead.

Elizabeth Frazier< no role > Widow one of the Nurses of Guys Hospital
maketh that between nine and ten oClock on Tuesday Morning
last the deced Ann Esther was brought to the Hospital and
was taken into Charity Ward< no role > in said Hospital in a Chair
that she was sensible but appeared very ill that she was put
into Bed that a Mr. Foster examined the deced and sayed
no Bones were broken Mr. Foster asked the deced now she
came to put herself out of Window she shook her head
the deced had a violent bruise on the rightleftArm on her left
side side and upper part of the back of her head Dept. by
Mr. Fosters orders applyed a Poultrie to the deceds Arm and
fominted it that the deced continued to get some until Wednesday
Night between five and six oClock when she departed this
Life that a Mr. Stocker on Apothecary of the Hospital attended
the deced That in the course of tuesday Morning Dept. asked
the deced why she threw herself out of Window the deced
shook he head and sayed she was a wicked or cature and
her own sufferings were greatest

Francis Gass< no role > a Labourer in the East India Company's Ware
houses [..] and a Lodger at No.6 Fleet Street St Mathew
Bethnal Green maketh Oath that a little after twelve in the
Night of Monday last Dept. being in his Box at Lucas's Wharf
near Cherry Garden Stairs Burn on drey heard a Person
whom Dept. believed to be a Woman call out Watch. Watch
Dept. hearing the Voice all out again went out and upon going
to a House in Bermondsey Water [..] a Woman sayed here is
a Girl has thrown herself out of Window pointing to Woman
close by her who was then standing on her Legssupportedby
two or three persons who supported her in to the House Dept. went
into the House with her that a Surgeon came soon after and
examined the deced that she had a cut or Wound upon the upper
part of the back of her head that her right Arm was bruised
