Depositions of Witnesses taken at London
that is to say at the Parish of Saint Stephen
in Coleman Street in the Ward of Coleman
Street in London aforesaid this 13th: day of
January 1796 on view of the Body of
Ann Marsh< no role > now here lying Dead.

William Copeland< no role > one of the Servants to Bethelem
Hospital maketh Oath that he hath known the deced
since August last that she was a married Woman and
was brought to the Hospital in consequence of being deranged
in her Mind that she was very bad when brought in
quite a raving State and was locked up close for four
or five Days or a Week that about seven oClockDoYesterday
Morning Dept. went round it being a part of his Duty to
open the Windows of the different Cells wherein the persons
are confined that upon coming to the Door of the Cell
wherein the deceased was Dept. unlocked the Door and
upon pushing it open he found something hang heavy against
it that upon going in & opening the Window on looking round
he saw the deced hanging by a piece of linen which was
part of a Sheet from the Corner of the Door that he took
her down that she was quite dead & cold & appeared to
have hanged some time Dept. then acquainted the person
in the Hospital of having found the deced

Dorothy Booth< no role > Widow one of the Nurses of Bethelem
Hospital maketh Oath that she hath had the care of and
nursed the deced since she has been in the Hospital from
August last that she was very bad when she first came
to the Hospital but in a little time got better that about
five oClock on Monday NIght lastDept.Dept. called to the
deced and desired her to go to Bed that the went into
her Room on Cell and Dept. went to some other Rooms That in a
little while after Dept. returned to the deceds Room and found
She was in Bed Dept. then took her (the deceds) Cloaths out of the
Room & bolted the deced in That the deced has never
been to her senses since she has been in the Hospital
