Depositions of Witnesses taken at the Workhouse
of Saint Olave Parish situate in the parish of
Saint John Within the Borough of Southwark
in the County of Surrey this 19th. day of October
1795 on view of the Body of David Stephenson< no role >
now here lying Dead.

Joel Riggs< no role > an Apprentice to John Carslak of
Sydmouth in the County of Devon but now belonging to
the Brig Fleece of Plymouth whereof James Faulkner< no role > is
Master now lying at Chamberlains Wharf in the parish
of saint Olave Southwark maketh oath that he hath
known the deced by sight about three Months that he
was a had about thirteen or fourteen Years of age that he
belong to the Brig Mary & Ann of Hall in Yorkshire
lying alongside Dept. Vessel That about four oClock
yesterdaysundayafternoonlastDept. saw the deced walking on the
Gun whole of a Lighter lying a head of both Dept. & the
deced. Vessel that theirthe nextMorning Monday Dept.
understood the deced was missing That between ten
& eleven this Morning Dept saw the deced taken out of
the waterintolay two men (in a Boat) who took him [..]
tointo the Boat they were in

of Borndy Leg Walk in the parish of St Sariom Southwark
maketh oath that between ten & eleven this morning Dept.
beinggoing toon Chamberlains Wharf a little Boy on board a
light sayed here is a drowned Man Dept. went to the
coroner of the Wharf & saw a Lad lying upon his Face & Hands
near the cause way at Chamberlains Wharf that in about twoa little whole
or three Minutes a person whom Dept. believes to be Master of the
Vessel to which the deced belong came & sayed the deced belong to his vessel & had
been missing Yesterday afternoon [..]
