Mr. Higgins No. 8 Orange Court Wylde Street Drury
Lane Middx maketh oath that between six and seven
last Saturday evening Dept. the deced & ansr Man were
employed in a Wheeled Crane at Galley Quay
Thames Street
thataforesaidtwo Bales of Linen were fastened to the Host
belonging to the Crane from a Lighter along side the Quay
in order for Dept. the deced & the other Man to weigh it up
to the Quay that after walking a while in the Wheel of
the Crane & having weighed the Bales some higth another
Names as sent into the Wheel the Bales being rather
heavythat after they hadweighedraised the Bales
some higth some person cryed "no" such signified
that they should lower the Bales-that the fourth
Man then went away & soon after the third Man went
away Dept. & the deced being left in the wheel that
the deced being an old man the wheel went round
to fast for him so that he fell down in consequence of which
the wheel went round so swift the deced was thrown
from one part of the Wheel to the other until the Goods
were again landed in the Lighter & on the Wheel stopping
the deced was taken out that he had a cut or wound
on his Temple-the back part of his Head & across his
Eye brows-that he was quite insensible
appeared to be dead that he was taken [..]
from the wheel on the Quay-that he was then quite
dead & even put in to a shell & taken away
