London Depositions of Witnesses taken at
London that is to say at the parish of
Saint Mary Magdalen Old Fish street
in the Ward of Castle baynard in London
aforesaid on the 3rd day of July 1795
on view of the body of William Stiles< no role >
now here lying dead

Pearce Holt Nortler at the Kings head Old Charge
London maketh Oath that about ½ past five yesterday
afternoon the deced who was driver of the Kingscoat Waggon
from Gloucestershire to London came with the said Waggon
to the Kings head aforesaid-that the Waggon was drawn by
six Horses that he drove the Waggon into the yard when
four of the Horses were taken off-that after the four
Horses were taken off the deced took hold of the two Shaft
Horses in order to draw the Waggon further up the yard
that while he was so doing the Stable Door being open
the Horses appeared to be anxious to get into the stable by
which means the deced could not manage them so that
they forced the deced against the wall of the stable and [..] the
off horse got his Head into the Stable & the near horse
was forced against the Wall that the deced being against
the Wall the [..] near Shaft of the pole of the Waggon was
forced against the deced so that he was pressed between it &
the Wall-Dept. went to the Horses. the deced went from the
Horses to the hinder part of the Waggon lay himself down
on a Cask in the yard cried "Oh" then sat down in a Chair
which was in the yard wherein he continued about ten
Minutes when he departed this Life-Dept. has seen the
deced since his Death-that he appears to have a bruise
on the right side which Dept. Shinks was by the Shaft
of the Waggon pressing against him-that the Waggon &
Horses Dept. believes and the pty of Thomas & John Creed< no role >
of Kingscoat aforesaid.
