An Inquisition Indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at London that is
to say at the parish of Saint Bartholomew the less in the Ward of Farringdon without in
London aforesaid on the eleventh day of March in the thirty fifth year of the reign of our
Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland
King Defender of the faith and so forth before Thomas Shelton< no role > Gentleman Coroner of our
said Lord the King for the City of London and Borough of Southwark on view of the body
of Edward Noone< no role > now here lying dead by the oath of Daniel Neale< no role > George Noone Philip< no role >
Evans Edward Smith< no role > Edmund Smith< no role > John Francies< no role > Thomas Priddley< no role > Robert Towers< no role >
William Bumsted< no role > Joshua Hill< no role > Nathaniel Streat< no role > William Hughes< no role > Ralph Monk< no role >
William Pewkridge< no role > William Brownjohn< no role > Thomas Ladd< no role > and Richard Llewin good and
lawful men of the City of London aforesaid who being now here duly chosen sworn and
charged to inquire for our said Lord the King when how and in what manner the said
Edward Noone< no role > came to his death say upon their oath that a certain person to the
Jurors aforesaid unknown on the ninth day of March in the year aforesaid being driving
a certain Cart drawn by three horses along and through a certain publick street and Kings
common highway called Chiswell street situate in the parish of Saint Luke in the
County of Middlesex and the said Edward Noone< no role > being then and there crossing the said
street whilst the said Cart was so passing on as aforesaid It so happened that the said
Edward Noone accidentally casually and by misfortune fell to the Ground and stone pavement
there and the near wheel of the said Cart did then and there accidentally casually and by
misfortune go upon and pass over the head of him the said Edward Noone by means whereof
the said Edward Noone< no role > did then and there receive one mortal bruise and fracture in and
upon the head of him the said Edward Noone< no role > of which said bruise and fracture he the said
Edward Noone< no role > as well at the said parish of Saint Luke in the County of Middlesex as also at the
parish of Saint Bartholomew the less in the Ward of Farringdon without in London aforesaid
did languish and languishing did live and afterwards (to wit) on the same day and year
aforesaid at the parish and Ward last aforesaid in London aforesaid of the said mortal
bruise and fracture did die and so the Jurors aforesaid do say that the said Edward
Noone in manner and by the means aforesaid accidentally casually and by misfortune
came to his death and not otherwise In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner as the
said Daniel Neal< no role > the foreman of the said Jurors on behalf of himself and the rest of his
fellows in their presence have to this Inquisition set their hands and seals the day year
and place first above written.
