Southwark

An Inquisition Indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at the parish of
Saint Thomas within the Borough of Southwark in the County of Surrey on the twenty first day
of July in the thirty fourth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God
of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the faith and so forth before Thomas Shelton< no role >
Gentleman Coroner of our said Lord the King for the City of London and Borough of Southwark on view of
the Body of Richard Goodwin< no role > now here lying dead by the oath of Thomas Cooper< no role > Martin Holl< no role >
Thomas Hooper< no role > William Howell< no role > Philip Windsor< no role > Decimas Haywood< no role > John Savory< no role > Thomas Wright< no role >
Thomas Rosewarne< no role > Thomas White< no role > Thomas Asquith John Lee< no role > William Sagg< no role > Luke Cannon< no role > Thomas
Crooks William Parry< no role > and David March good and lawful men of the Borough of Southwark
who being now here duly chosen sworn and charged to inquire for our said Lord the King when how and
in what manner the said Richard Goodwin< no role > came to his death say upon their oath that the said
Richard Goodwin< no role > and divers other persons on the eighteenth day of July in the year aforesaid were
employed in repairing a certain house belonging to oneBevan situate at the parish of
Saint Mary at Hill in the Ward of Billinsgate in the City of London and that the said Richard Goodwin< no role >
then and there being upon a certain Ladder reared to and against the said house It so happened
that the said Richard Goodwin< no role > accidentally casually and by misfortune fell from and off the said
Ladder down unto and upon the Ground there by means whereof the said Richard Goodwin< no role > did
then and there receive one mortal wound and fracture in and upon the law and skin of him
the said Richard Goodwin< no role > of which said mortal wound and fracture the said Richard Goodwin< no role > as well at
the said parish of Saint Mary at Hill in the Ward of Billinsgate in London aforesaid as also at the said parish
of Saint Thomas within the Borough and County aforesaid did languish and languishing did live On which
said eighteenth day of July in the year aforesaid at the last mentioned parish of Saint Thomas within the Borough
of Southwark aforesaid in the County aforesaid the said Richard Goodwin< no role > of the said mortal bruise and fracture
did die And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their oath aforesaid do say that the said Richard Goodwin< no role >
in manner and by the means aforesaid casually and by misfortune was accidentally killed. In
Witness whereof as well the said Coroner as the said Thomas Cooper< no role > the foreman of the said Jurors
on behalf of himself and the rest of his fellows in their presence have to this Inquisition set their hands
and Seals the day year and placefirst above written
