of a Boy whose christian Name was Joseph

Oath that the deced a Boy named Joseph about seventeen
Years of age came to the said vessel on Saturday last
from Sunderland
as an Apperentice as Dept under load
to the Owners of the vessel that between One & two Yesterday
afternoon Dept left the vessel and came on Shore that at
the time he left the vessel the deced was then standing near
the Companion on the after past of the vessel Dept desired
him todoreeve the force Sheet while Dept was gone
that Mr. Shephensons Wife and as Child of has were
the only persons Dept. left in the vessel with the deced
that on Dept going on board the vessel at five OClock
some persons on board the vessels lying alongside Depts.
informed Dept. the deced was drowned on inquiring
how it happened a Mariner
belonging to the Janet Briz
of Ireland lying alongside of Dept. vessel and who was
then in a Boat told Dept. that a person having [..]
failed Dept. to vessel and was going on Shore to fetch the person
the Dept vessel and was going on Shore to fetch the person
who had failed the to vessel that there being no Bar in the
Boat [..] the deced made me of a Boat look that he
looked the [..] Main Chaines of the vessel with the Boat
look in order to pull the Boat aforwards to Sheer her off
that having so done the Boat sheared off with the Side
and the Hook being entangled with the Chaines the deced
could not looking and the Boat sheering off to font the deced
was hanled overboard that in a little him a after the
deced was taken up by Dept that he was quite dead
