Southwark . (to wit)

An Inquisition Indented taken for our, Sovereign Lord the King at the parish of
Saint John within the Borough of Southwark in the County of Surrey on the twenty fourth day
of February in the thirty fourth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the grace
of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King defender of the faith and so forth before Thomas
Shelton Gentleman Coroner of our said Lord the King for the City of London and Borough of Southark
on view of the Body of a woman unknown now here lying dead by the Oath of Alexander Lyall< no role >

George Hawes< no role > good & lawful men of the Borough of Southwark afsd who being now here duly chosen sworn and charged
to inquire for our Lord the King when how and in what manner the sd woman unknown came to her death say upon
their oath That the sd woman unknown then lately before accidentally casually and by misfortune fell into the river
Thames & in & with the waters of the said River was then and there suffocated & drowned of which sd suffocation and
drowning the said woman unknown did then & there die And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath
aforesaid do say that the sd woman unknown in manner & by the means aforesaid came to her death and
not otherwise. In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner as the said Alexander Lyall the foreman
of the said Jurors on behalf of himself and the rest of his fellows in their presence have to this Inquisition set
their hands and seals the day year and place first above written.
