London Deposition of Witness taken at
London that is to say, at the parish of
Saint Sepulchre in the Ward of Farringdon
without in London aforesaid this 24th. day
of December 1793 on view of the Body of
Betsey Fitters< no role >
now here lying Dead

Esther< no role > the Wife of Edward Shelton< no role > a Servant at No.
28 Grafton Street Newport Market in the County of
Middlesex maketh Oath that she hath known the deced
Betsey Fitters< no role > about a fortnight that she was a Prisoner
in His Majesty's Gaol of Newgate for Debt-that she
has been ill the whole of that time with a Dropsy and spit
very much-that she was so ill as to keep to Her Bed
the whole of that time-that she continued to get worse
daily until this Morning about Eight OClock when
she departed this Life that she was attended by the
Surgeon of the said Gaol during her illness and
had as much care of taken of her as the situation of
the Gaol could admit of and Dept. has no doubt
the aforesaid disorder occasioned the deceds Death
