maketh Oath that between the hours of eight
and nine yesterday Morning Dept. passing along Bermondsey
Street just on he got to the House No. 48 he heard a Woman
exclaim O'h my husband My husband in dead Dept. stops the
Woman
within sayed Oh Lord he has hanged himself Dept.
immediately went into said Home which Dept. understood
was kept by the deced and on going into a Wash house in the
Yard of the House he found the deced hanging by a piece of
Cord fastened to a Hook in the Door Port of the Wash house within side
that the Hook being a little way from the Ground the deced
appeared in a sitting postureDept. cut the deced down
that after he had cut him down he took the Cord from round
his Neckthat he was quite dead. and cold all over him except
the pit of his Stomach which felt a little warm Dept. thinks
the deced must have been hanging some timethat a Woman
who appeared to be the Wife of the deced and who was the
same Dept. apprehend he had heard crying out as before
stated was standing in the passage
of the House and appeared
very much concerned and affected on the occassion and
cryed out very muchthat some people came in about
the same timethat a Doctor Clark
came in and fell the deced
pulse sayed he could do nothing for him for that he must have
hanged some time.

maketh Oath that he hath known the decedabout
between three and four Months since he first came to the House
he now lyes dead inthat upon the alarm being given Yesterday
Morning he went to the deced House and was present when
the last Witness cut the deced down Dept. has observed the
deced since he came into the Neighbourhood to appear very
dull and Melancholy and has seen him walking backwards
and forwards in his Shop very rejected and Melancholy.
