An Inquisition Indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at the Parish of Saint Bonnet< no role >
Fenk in the ward of Bread Street in London aforesaid on the fifteenth day of July in the thirty third
year of the reign of the reign of our Sovereign Lord< no role > George the third by the grace of God of Great Britain France
and Ireland King defender of the faith and soforth before Thomas Shelton< no role > Gentleman Coroner of our said
Lord the King for the City of London and Borough of Southwark on view of the Body of a female infant
now here lying dead by the Oath of Michael Leman< no role > John Ossibrooke< no role > John Sommers< no role > Thomas Tutt< no role > John
Harbridge Edward Morriss John Miles< no role > William Newton< no role > John Chowles< no role > Thomas Boosey< no role > Giles Hanwell< no role >
Edward Barton< no role > & Joseph Stuart< no role > goodard lawful men of the City of London who being now here duly
chosen sworn and charged to inquire for our said Lord the King when how and in what manner the
said female infant came to her death say upon their Oath that a certain woman whose name to
the Jurors aforesaid is unknown being big with a certain female Child the same female Child on the
thirteenth day of September in the year aforesaid at the parish and Ward aforesaid in London aforesaid
from her Body by the providence of God did bring forth alive And that the said Woman whose name
unknown not having the fear of God before her eyes but being moved and seduced by the instigation
of the Devil afterwards to wit on the same day and year aforesaid at the parish and Ward aforesaid
in London aforesaid in and upon the said new born female Child so alive and in the peace of
God and our said Lord the King then and there being feloniously wilfully and of her malice aforethought
did make an Assault And that the said woman unknown her the said new born female Child with
both her hands in a certainLondon ClothReign of Woollen Stuff of no value then and there feloniously wilfully and of her
malice aforethought did wrap up and fold by means of which said wrapping up and folding of her the said
newborn female Child in the Woollen Stuff aforesaid she the said newborn female Child then and
there instantly died And us the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do say that the said
woman unknown her the said new born female Child in manner and by the means aforesaid feloniously
wilfully and of her malice aforethought did kill and murder against the peace of our said Lord the King
his Crown and dignity. And that the said woman unknown at the time of committing the felony & murder
or any time since had no Goods or Chattels Land or tenements within the City of London or elsewere
to the Knowledge of the said Jurors. In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner as the said
Michael Lemann< no role > the foreman of the said Jurors on bahalf of himself and the rest of his fellows in their
presence have to this Inquisition set their hands and seals the day year and place first above written
